The National Champions Cup has been announced as Pakistan eyes the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, with the tournament running from August 11 to 18 in Multan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board will field four teams across seven matches at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The format includes a single round-robin phase followed by a final, with sides named Pakistan Gold, Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites and Pakistan Blues.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan will captain the four teams, picked by the national selection committee.
The competition aims to help gauge the depth of one-day talent in the country ahead of the World Cup.
It forms part of a wider revamp of the domestic cricket calendar for 2026-27, including expanded regional teams and changes to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
