IndiGo flight 6E-451 returned to Bengaluru on November 7, 2026, after a handwritten hijack threat was found in a toilet, according to The Federal and Vartha Bharati.

The reports differ on who found the note, and only one reports the hoax finding, attributed to airport sources.

Investigators suspect the note may have been planted by someone on board, and no arrest has been reported.

The aircraft type, the landing time and the time of the later departure are not stated.

All passengers were evacuated as per standard operating procedures, according to the same report.

A bomb disposal squad and a dog squad checked the aircraft and the passengers’ baggage, according to Vartha Bharati.

Airport sources told The Hindu that no suspicious objects were found and that the threat was found to be a hoax after the inspection, according to Vartha Bharati, and the emergency was withdrawn.

The Federal’s report does not state a hoax finding, and says only that the flight would take off again after security clearances.

Police questioned passengers, and sources told NDTV that investigators suspected the note may have been planted by someone on board, according to The Federal.

Officials said an investigation had been launched to identify the person who left the note, according to Vartha Bharati.

No arrest or charge has been reported in either article.

An IndiGo spokesperson said the relevant authorities were informed immediately, in line with the standard operating procedure.

The reports do not state the aircraft type, the landing time or when the flight finally took off again.

Hoax threats against aircraft are treated as serious by the authorities, and the treatment of such cases follows security procedures that can include diversions and full checks.

The reports reviewed were published on November 8 and rely on airport and police sources, so details may change.
