From May to early October yearly, this space is a resting place for the southern migration of the Humpback Whale and the calving grounds of the Southern Right Whale. The deep, sheltered waters also present a safe, natural harbour for the much-loved Western Australian Whales. The area boasts seashores known to be among the finest in Australia. Just minutes from the centre of town is the long-lasting Binalup /Middleton Beach and beautiful Little Beach. A brief drive away is Elephant Rocks, where big granite boulders resemble a herd of elephants lazing within the sea.
